if I look at your screenshot what you renamed that was you renamed it as nested hence the problem
so we’ll have to rename it as nested so it will open up the smart object here and then this is where we are
supposed to place the design but again we have to edit this template because it’s only half of what we see
so if you look this is an animated version which goes from left this is 50 % and this goes on to the right
now if I duplicate the smart object here
this will change things up I’m not sure I mean I recorded the video quite early I mean maybe months ago
so I’m not sure how we did that but we are supposed to place our design here and we cannot go two steps deep

and maybe save it here now this is a duplicate I mean it’s seamless I guess if you want we can
rotate it like a flip horizontal if you want I’m not sure what should be the seamless design look like
so you arrange it accordingly now I want this to be saved as downloads I created a folder tumblr demo let me find out

this now goes on the both places save it close it and now this will rotate as we want
okay now we want to make this as a bulk that is our requirement so I’ll close this case for now
so first I mean how bulk mockup works I’ll explain you the basics so you understand what we did just now
and how to get a workaround around this tree so this is the template that we have so bulk mockup will
first open up adder a design it will double click and open the smart object layer then it finds nested so
it will double click and open the nested smart object layer and over here it will place the design
now because this is a rectangular design with a long I mean we need the design to be placed twice
we I mean bulk mockup will only place one design
so either we have to modify the template or we have to make our designs something that creates a rectangular
form to figure that out what I did right now is I created a template for you
which is this template
so this is a separate template which only has one smart object layer now I’ll rename it at design
and if you remember how I created the smart object template is let me find out it is okay this will
not work I’ll okay so we have to create a template this size so that we run bulk mockup through this
template I mean we run the designs all the designs that we have through this template so that we get a
input file for our rotating template I mean for our rotating tumbler okay so to do that
we’ll delete this for now we’ll have to keep this size because this is the size that I mean this is
the size that the rotating terminal will accept now what I’ll do is go to your design file right click get
info if you are in windows you’ll go to right click properties and then details it follow so now this is
the size of the design file that we have 2790 2460 so I’ll go to photoshop window click on this one
rectangle tool click on the center and here we’ll enter the size 2790 let me go back to this one 2790 2460
2460 and hit on ok now I’ll select the move tool now this is the rectangular size of the exact dimension
of the design file now I’ll right click and click on convert to smart object for now we will delete
this one now now press ctrl t or command t reduce the size this will fill it accord half the size okay
so fill it half of the size
position it on to the left
press ctrl t we’ll have to fill it half of the size
just fill perfectly now we want to you know
fill I mean we want this designs to be placed two times I mean one on the left one on the right so
select this layer and press ctrl j or command j this will create a copy of it this this will create a copy and now
these two smart object as you could see they are both are smart objects
and these two are linked okay so I’ll rename one of them as add design
if you make any changes on add design instead of rectangle black color let me add a solid color
color and let us add a maroon color if I save it you’ll see that both of the color changes
so this is exactly how we want the template because we’ll enter one design file and it will create a
duplicate copy of the second one here and at the end we’ll get a seamless design okay so this is the
purpose of this one okay so I’ll save and close now I’ll close this one as well
and this is the design creator psd so I’ll create a new template and name this
design creator
I’ll place this here and for the design file we have only one design file that you had sent me but
let me create few variations so that we could have at least three of them for the test purpose okay

let me try hue saturation
let us have one blue variation so I’ll create a save a copy a png drive we’ll leave it copy no problem
so let me try to save a copy and let us have a black and white version so this is a black and white version
we’ll create save a copy

so we started with one design now we have three designs for this test purpose now first we’ll go to
plugins bulk mockup in the main we’ll select the psd template folder which in this case we’ll select
the design creator which we just created the template for next we’ll create the design folder
uh this is our the design file that we have three of them we’ll uncheck this process multiple smart
object then we’ll select the export let us use this as export there’s no items there
for resize method we could be a fit to canvas without copying or fill canvas cropping next time we could
choose any of that then we’ll go to the settings design layer this is not required
psd template is fine for the export let us go to folder all export folder is fine
files will save a png file okay and mp4 will not save we’ll save a png file and let this be
9 for the highest quality and let the naming be design file name i guess and preference is not required so
we’ll just click on main and then start generating
so what it does it will add the design file if you look at the export you could see it’s actually
working right now and then if you look at the export here so along with the design it gave us a design
which is a rectangular in shape which can go in our rotating psd template now okay so instead of now i mean
we have design file here but now we’ll be using this exported this will be the design file for our
rotating tumbler so again we have the pst here rotating tumbler let us do not worry about this
we’ll select this and instead of selecting the design creator we’ll select the pst template right now
and instead of the design folder we selected this design file now instead of selecting this we’ll select
the export which has three elongated designs and for the export we could create a new folder and we can
write video export and click on open fill canvas cropping the extra is fine or we can also select fill canvas
stretch whatever suits here in both works now settings folder we can create design file so there will be separate folder for each of the design file
files now instead of selecting a png we’ll select mp4
okay and here we’ll select the mp4 settings now the mp4 settings that we see here is
192023404 i’m not sure if this is the correct document or i mean
else we see everything is perfect high quality epr everything is good but i want to check the
dimension if these are correct or not so i’ll open the rotating psd template i will note the size here
if not i will have to make the size adjustment i’ll show you how to make that
so you know the size does not match so we have to make the size adjustment so what we will do is
very simple and just open the template and now we’ll click on custom settings and custom settings will
work when you have the template open so i’ll click on custom setting
so it will actually pop up the render video option now it takes up the exact size of the
dimension of this template now now do not worry about the settings here everything is fine
you want to make any settings you could change maybe i do not want the mp4 folder so the frame
size document size is all good so i’ll click on render so this is a sample render that i do so that to
make this settings equivalent to the current the size 2174 and 111661 pixels so this is one time that we need
to do just to make the this settings accurate with the template so just give us some moment by the
time it’s exporting and i’m actually on the you know laptop which is not very powerful for video so
this is taking some time please be be with me
i’m not sure is it exporting or not it looks like there must be some
of course not use the move tool because the layers are selected okay
okay so it exported somehow and we could look that they use a document size to use document frame rate
true so now the sizes that we had is actually uh in related to document instead of those predefined
sizes so we are good now so that was only a small exercise to make sure the export is fine

some video export yeah this is the video export that we see and you could look this is the manual
export that we just did and this is exactly what we need right so i’ll delete this for now because we are
going to do it in the bulk so again main we have the you could look at the well you could look at the
file location over here so if i hover the mouse demo pst design file as the export folder uh then
the we have the video export uh settings we have mp4 which uh says the sizes document size
and naming i think it’s all right maybe you could put your brand or whatever you may follow remember
if you i mean if i remove this there could be you know uh red colors over here so when you see a red color
here which means there is some trouble with the file naming so you need to use parameters to make a
unique file naming okay now i’ll go back to the main tab and then i’ll click on start generating
now it will look that it’s actually placing the design and then it will be exporting them
so it will create a it actually hanged
but yeah the video is being created
maybe the video i’m not sure the video you know the tutorial that you watched i recorded it like
months or years ago so i do not recall what method i used or maybe i recommended that template i’m pretty
i mean i’m very uh not certain about this but for this template this is what we will you know go
ahead and process with so just let us see we’ll have the video any moment here
and again the speed of the render depends entirely on your device
so if you have a heavy device uh the speed of render will be very fast
and if you have a i mean a low device like me i’m on macbook m1 pro
so the speed will lag so we have the first video here and it’s actually exporting the second one
so you could look at the video here and it works perfectly right so this is how we export it
and you might be confused uh the last frame and this is because the template has some issues i’ll show
you how to deal with this one so i’ll show you what problem we have so that we see a black background
layer on this timeline so i’ll have to you know uh stop this video but again uh the blank uh black
background is because uh the background layer on this timeline has not been stretched to the end of
the video so make sure that you stretch the background layer you can move your cursor to the
end of the cards and stretch it to the end of the video okay and that will fix it

The core problem the user is facing is that the design provided covers only half of the rotating tumbler surface, while the animated template expects a seamless rectangular design.
Bulk Mockup places a design only once, which breaks animated or rotating templates that require repeated placement. Below is the complete workaround to fix this properly.
The file provided is not a final template but a raw animated PSD. The animation runs through the Timeline panel, where the tumbler rotates. The visible Smart Object is only a container, not the final placement layer.
Inside it:
Bulk Mockup can only go two levels deep, so correct naming is critical.
This ensures Bulk Mockup:
Incorrect naming causes Bulk Mockup to place the design at the wrong level or only partially.
The tumbler animation requires a seamless rectangular design that wraps fully around the surface.
However:
Bulk Mockup cannot duplicate designs automatically inside animated Smart Objects.
To solve this, a pre-processing template is required.
Both Smart Objects are now linked, meaning one design update affects both.
Now, any design placed once will automatically appear twice, creating a seamless rectangular output.
This produces elongated rectangular designs, perfectly suited for rotation.
Bulk Mockup now inserts seamless designs into the animated template and renders videos.
If the MP4 size does not match the PSD:
This is a one-time calibration.
If the last frame shows a black background:
This ensures the background remains visible throughout the animation.
This workflow solves three major limitations at once:

✔ Bulk Mockup’s single-design insertion rule
✔ Animated template constraints
By using a two-step Bulk Mockup process—first creating seamless designs, then generating videos—you achieve fully automated, consistent rotating tumbler mockups without manual intervention.
Rotating tumbler mockups need seamless rectangular designs. Use a design-creator template to duplicate artwork, then run Bulk Mockup in two phases for perfect video exports.
Because the original artwork covers only half the required width. Animated tumbler templates require seamless rectangular designs, while Bulk Mockup inserts a design only once per Smart Object.
Bulk Mockup replaces Smart Objects with flattened images. It does not create duplicate Smart Objects dynamically, which is why duplication must be handled at the template level.
It pre-processes designs into seamless rectangular files by duplicating and linking Smart Objects. This prepares artwork specifically for rotating or animated templates.
These names tell Bulk Mockup where to place designs. Incorrect naming causes placement at the wrong depth, resulting in broken animations or partial designs.
The background layer in the timeline does not extend to the end of the animation. Stretching it fully fixes the issue permanently.
