Save changes to an Adobe Photoshop document before closing
If Photoshop asks whether you want to save changes before closing, save the Smart Object document first so your edits appear in the main mockup. This is the correct manual workflow when working with Smart Object-based templates that Bulk Mockup Photoshop Plugin supports.
Before you close the document
Use File > Save, not Save As, when you finish editing the Smart Object. Bulk Mockup Photoshop Plugin works with Smart Object-based mockups, and saving the Smart Object updates the parent mockup automatically.
Step-by-step tutorial
Open your mockup PSD file in Adobe Photoshop.
In the Layers panel, open the Smart Object you want to edit by double-clicking the Smart Object thumbnail or right-clicking the layer and selecting Edit Contents.
Make your design changes inside the Smart Object tab.
When Photoshop shows the prompt to save changes before closing, click Yes or go to File > Save first.
Press Ctrl+S on Windows or Cmd+S on Mac if you want to save quickly from the keyboard.
Close the Smart Object tab after the save is complete.
Return to the main mockup document and confirm that your updated artwork appears there.
What the Photoshop message means
The message means Photoshop detected unsaved edits in the Smart Object document. If you close the Smart Object without saving, the main mockup will not update with your latest changes.
This follows the same manual Smart Object workflow described in Pre-Requisites For Working With Bulk Mockup: edit the Smart Object, save it, then close the tab.
Troubleshooting tips
If your changes do not appear in the main mockup, reopen the Smart Object and save it again with File > Save.
If you used Save As instead of Save, go back to the original Smart Object tab and save that document directly.
If you are unsure whether you opened the correct layer, review how to identify Smart Objects in Pre-Requisites For Working With Bulk Mockup.
