Scratch Disk Is Full Error
The "Scratch Disk Is Full" error occurs when Photoshop runs out of temporary storage space. This is common when processing large batches with Bulk Mockup Photoshop Plugin because Photoshop creates temporary files for each mockup.
Before you begin: You'll need admin access to change Photoshop preferences and delete temporary files from your computer.
Quick Fixes
1. Free Up Disk Space
Delete unnecessary files from your scratch disk drive to create at least 50GB of free space. Empty your recycle bin and remove old downloads.
2. Change Your Scratch Disk
Open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Scratch Disks (Windows) or Photoshop > Settings > Scratch Disks (Mac)
Select a drive with more free space (preferably an SSD or external drive)
Uncheck your system drive if it's low on space
Click OK and restart Photoshop
3. Clear Photoshop Temporary Files
Close Photoshop completely and manually delete temporary files:
Windows: Navigate to
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Tempand delete files starting with "Photoshop Temp" or "pst"Mac: Navigate to
/Users/[YourUsername]/Library/Caches/and delete Adobe Photoshop cache folders
4. Restart Photoshop Between Large Batches
When processing hundreds of mockups, restart Photoshop every 100-200 mockups to clear memory and temporary files automatically.
Optimize Bulk Mockup Performance
Use Replace Content Resize Method
In Bulk Mockup settings, select Replace Content Resize instead of other replacement methods. This uses less disk space but requires all your design files to be the same dimensions.
Reduce Photoshop's RAM Usage
Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance
Set "Let Photoshop Use" to 70-85% of available RAM
Reduce "History States" to 10-20 (lower = less memory used)
Click OK and restart Photoshop
Process Mockups in Smaller Batches
Instead of processing 500+ mockups at once, break them into batches of 50-100. This prevents scratch disk overflow and makes it easier to spot errors.
Close Other Applications
Shut down browsers, video editors, and other memory-heavy programs while running Bulk Mockup to free up RAM and disk space for Photoshop.
If you consistently work with large batches (300+ mockups), consider upgrading to an SSD with 250GB+ free space dedicated as your scratch disk.
